Kai Veitch continued his rookie Ginetta Junior Championship season with another solid step forward at Oulton Park, producing three clean, progressive race drives across the British GT support weekend.

Competing with Pace Performance in the 2026 Ginetta Junior Championship, the 15-year-old arrived at Oulton Park looking to build on the early progress shown at Donington Park and Silverstone. With its narrow layout, elevation changes and limited margin for error, Oulton represented another demanding challenge in Kai’s first full season of car racing.

After qualifying 21st in a closely matched field, Kai focused on making steady progress through the weekend rather than chasing unnecessary risks. Race one brought an immediate move forward, as he climbed eight places to finish 13th overall and 10th in the Rookie classification.

The progress continued on Bank Holiday Monday. In race two, Kai again moved up the order, gaining six positions from his starting place to finish 12th overall and 9th among the Rookie drivers. The result reflected a more settled rhythm in race conditions and another useful step in his adaptation to Ginetta Junior racing.

His strongest result of the weekend came in race three, where Kai finished 11th overall and 7th in the Rookie classification. In a race interrupted by incidents and safety car periods, he kept his race together and brought the car home just outside the overall top ten.

Across the three races, Kai gained positions in every outing and showed the consistency that has become central to the first part of his rookie campaign.

“It was a weekend where I had to keep learning and stay patient,” said Kai. “Oulton is a hard track to race on because it’s narrow and you have to be really committed, but also careful with where you place the car. I made progress in every race and finished the weekend closer to where I want to be. There’s still a lot to improve, but I feel like I’m getting more comfortable each time I’m in the car.”

The Oulton Park weekend also produced one of the most eye-catching images of Kai’s season so far, as he attacked the kerbs with increasing confidence around the Cheshire circuit.

“The kerbs at Oulton are a big part of the lap,” Kai added. “You have to be committed, but if you overdo it, the car can get unsettled really quickly. I enjoyed that challenge because it rewards confidence and precision.”

The weekend formed rounds seven, eight and nine of the championship, with the front of the field producing three different race winners across the event. For Kai, the focus remains on building experience, improving his racecraft and continuing the transition from international karting into car racing.

Kai would like to thank Pace Performance for their continued work across the weekend, along with Rory, his supporters, #TeamKV, and everyone following his first full season in cars.

Next up, Kai continues his Ginetta Junior Championship campaign as he looks to carry the lessons from Oulton Park into the next round at Croft in June.
